There will be a new champion in Division 4, as defending state champ Johnson Creek gets elevated to Division 3 this season. That opens the door for some new blood, and Loyal is one of the squads poised to challenge at the top. The Greyhounds won the Cloverbelt-East title last year and return a good portion of their production, including league Player of the Year Rhett Lamovec. The team does have a new coach this year, as longtime assistant Dean Bogdonovich takes over.

De Soto, Iola-Scandinavia, Pittsville, and Columbus Catholic were chosen as the remainder of the top five in the preseason by the coaches.

Below are the full WBCA Preseason Coaches Poll rankings published and courtesy of the Baseball Wisconsin Yearbook. The 2026 book is the 34th edition, 316 pages in length, and in full color. Written and edited by Joe Waite and assisted by Chris Lavold, Mark Weber, Scot Neu, Eric Beard, and John Matera. The yearbook features a season breakdown for every high school and college program in the state and can be purchased here.
