Monday, December 8
We’ve got a slow night of boys hoops on Monday night but this one in the northeastern side is one to watch. Head coach Kam Cerroni got his first win last week in a thriller for the Papermakers, a one point win over Oshkosh North. The Phantoms of West De Pere look different this season compared to last, but got an opening game win over Hortonville last week.
These two teams are poised to challenge for the league crown in their division of the Trailways. Christian Schwartz is averaging 21.7 points per game to lead a balanced Marshmen offense.
Josh Manchester is three days removed from scoring his 2,000th career point. Watertown is three days removed from pushing Waunakee to the brink, despite a ten point loss. Can the Goslings slow down Manchester and keep this one competitive in a Badger conference crossover game.
Tuesday, December 9
Both of these squads are undefeated on the season looking to make an imprint on the 2025-26 year. Mauston is a much more balanced team that is led by sophomore Jase Navis and coming off a 32-point win over Wisconsin Dells. G-E-T has a pair of impressive wins already and boast one of the top guards on the west side of the state in senior Mason Brone.
These two teams will battle for the first of at least two times in a monster of an early season game. The top two ranked teams in Division 3 are Metro Classic conference foes and absolutely loaded with talent. Lutheran is led by Sam Pitrof among others while St. Cats has the uber-talented LaMont Hamilton leading the way.
Another incredible early season conference tilt will go down in the Greater Metro this Tuesday. Germantown is 1-0 and coming off a one point victory over New Berlin Eisenhower. Darrius Peete, Cahlil Jones, and JJ Walters lead an athletic and savvy Warhawks group. Tosa West suffered an early season loss last week on a buzzer-beater to Waterford. They bounced back with a 19-point win over Waukesha South and looking to add a marquee victory on Tuesday.
For those of you that live in the southeast part of the state, you should feel spoiled with the amount of games you can choose to go to on Tuesday night. This is another of those options as the top team in Division 1 squares off with the top team in Division 2 in a non-conference heavyweight matchup. The individual talent is superb, the teams are disciplined and fun to watch, and the coaches are a couple of the best.
These two squads are primed to battle for a Bay Conference championship this season and this will be the first of two games between them. Xavier is coming off a game in which head coach Matt Klarner earned win #300. Seymour has just one game under its belt, a six point victory over Notre Dame. Balance is a positive for both squads across the rotation.
Two of the top contenders for the Big Eight crown will do battle in this Tuesday night matchup. Verona is coming off a win on Saturday over our preseason favorite Madison Memorial, a game in which the Wildcats won by a comfortable 17 points. La Follette has scored in bunches so far this year and looking to continue that trend.
Another top ten matchup on the slate in Wisconsin as the Chargers of Kettle Moraine head to the Golden Beavers of Beaver Dam. The Beavers have just one game under their belt, an eight point victory over Monona Grove while KML is 3-0 with an impressive win over Xavier.
Miles Schmidgall leads a Fall Creek team into an away Cloverbelt-West tilt with McDonell. The junior big man has filled the box scores this year averaging 20.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
