Bound Wisconsin Basketball Team of the Week - Dec. 15-21

Badger GBB
On Tuesday, Badger ended Union Grove’s 60-game Southern Lakes Conference winning streak in a 50-47 victory. 12 different players scored, though none reached double figures in the win. The Badgers then defeated Wilmot 60-46 later in the week, with Ella Jooss and Teagan Clausen combining for 47 points.

De Pere BBB
De Pere knocked off a pair of ranked conference opponents last week to stay undefeated. The Redbirds were all over Sheboygan North in an 86-65 win, as Noah Maniscalco’s 25 points led four players in double-figures. They’d follow it up with another dominant victory against Bay Port, 80-52 as four players again hit double figures.

Deerfield GBB
Deerfield girls basketball moved to 9-0 with a pair of victories last week. The Demons won 49-44 at Lakeside Lutheran behind a solid team effort. Deerfield took down a solid Cambridge squad later in the week, as freshman Brecklyn Drobac had a team-high 15 points.

Lancaster BBB
Lancaster is undefeated on the season after an 84-53 win over Platteville last Thursday. Zach Hermsen posted an impressive 90.9% effectrive field goal percentage by making 11-of-20 field goals, two-of-three from deep, and 10-of-11 at the free throw line. He finished with 34 points to go with nine rebounds in the victory.

Martin Luther BBB
Martin Luther boys basketball lost four of its first five games this year, but rebounded in a big way with impressive wins over a pair of top contenders in the Metro Classic Conference. On Thursday, the Spartans defeated Racine St. Catherine’s 86-81, as the Angels had been the number one team in the Bound Wisconsin/Zaleski Sports Division 3 Media Poll. Damariye Redmond had 37 points, while Noah Tyler added 22 points and 15 rebounds. Martin Luther knocked off Kenosha St. Joseph 76-64 on Friday.

Travis Wilson serves as the Bound Wisconsin Manager. Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
