BOUND WISCONSIN WEEK 6 FOOTBALL TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Cochrane-Fountain City Pirates

In a showdown of previously unbeaten top ten Dairyland Conference teams, Division 7 fifth-ranked Cochrane-Fountain City won a thriller over sixth-ranked Pepin/Alma 15-14. The Pirates rallied from a fourth-quarter deficit to secure the win, converting the two-point play. Aidan Lisowski ran for a touchdown, caught three passes for 25 yards, and had a team-high 11 tackles in the game.

Franklin Sabers

Franklin and Kenosha Bradford were both unbeaten entering Week 6, but it was all Sabers on Friday night in a 35-0 victory, as they take control of the Southeast Conference once again. The top-ranked Sabers got 156 yards and two touchdowns through the air from quarterback Keegan Best, while Rob Beglinger scored a pair of rushing touchdowns. Dominick Walters had a pair of interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.

Green Bay West Wildcats

Green Bay West scored its first win of the year and the first victory over Manitowoc Lincoln in more than 25 years, downing the Ships 7-3 on Friday night. It certainly wasn’t easy, with neither team able to get much going offensively, and the Wildcats had just 134 yards in the game, but a Luke Rissling touchdown run in the fourth quarter provided the edge.

Lodi Blue Devils

Lodi handed Lake Mills its first loss of the season, 24-7, as the Blue Devils controlled the game on the ground (267 yards on 39 carries) and kept the explosive L-Cats offense in check. The Blue Devils broke open a close game with a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to seal the victory. Lodi limited Lake Mills to just 159 yards of offense in the game.

Middleton Cardinals

A rare Saturday night game saw Middleton break a fourth-quarter tie with Verona and claim a 23-14 victory, ending Verona’s 24-game Big Eight Conference winning streak that had dated back to 2021. Joey Passaglia continued his strong senior season with 193 passing yards, completing 79% of his throws. Patrick Passini had three interceptions on defense, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
