Division 1
Once again, a good amount of stability in the top half of the Division 1 Bound Wisconsin Coaches Poll, where Franklin continues to hold down the top spot, followed by Badger, Muskego, Arrowhead, and Neenah sneaking in as well. Bay Port and Hamilton suffered tough losses to ranked teams and manage to hang in the top ten this week.
Division 2
Homestead took down defending Division 2 state champion Slinger last week and it allowed the Highlanders to make a jump from third to first, narrowly ahead of Notre Dame and West De Pere. Slinger drops two spots to eighth this week, while La Crosse Central’s win over Holmen causes Holmen to drop out of the poll and La Crosse Central, winners of six straight, to move in at number ten.
Division 3
Catholic Memorial remains the heavy favorite in the Division 3 coaches voting, followed again by Grafton and Plymouth. Edgewood took down Mount Horeb/Barneveld, leading to changes in the top five. Edgewood is up to fourth, with New Berlin West fifth, as Mount Horeb/Barneveld drops to sixth. Luxemburg-Casco falls a couple spots after suffering its first loss to Little Chute on Thursday.
Division 4
Aquinas continues to hold the top spot in the Division 4 Coaches Poll on BoundWisconsin.com, with the Blugolds followed closely by fellow undefeated teams Winneconne and Baldwin-Woodville. Columbus is fourth, with Racine St. Catherine’s rounding out the top five once again. In the bottom half of the poll, West Salem’s loss to Aquinas drops the Panthers out of the rankings, while Evansville re-enters at number ten.
Division 5
Quite a bit of change in Division 5 this week, though Northwestern does continue in the top spot. Amherst lost to Stratford, dropping the Falcons from second to fifth. Grantsburg is up to second, followed by Mayville and Stratford. River Valley and Durand-Arkansaw fall out after losses, allowing Racine Lutheran and Winnebago Lutheran to enter. Winnebago Lutheran has won five straight after a tough opening schedule.
Division 6
Few changes in Division 6, especially towards the top. Edgar is first, followed in the top five once again by Regis, Darlington, Manitowoc Lutheran, and Mondovi. Lomira drops out after a loss to Winnebago Lutheran, allowing Bonduel to move back into the top ten.
Division 7
There were no losses or changes among the top eight in the Division 7 Coaches Poll. Kenosha St. Joseph is still the overwhelming vote-getter, as the Lancers are followed by Potosi/Cassville, Black Hawk/Warren, Boyceville, and Cochrane-Fountain City in the top five. HIlbert drops out this week, with Coleman re-entering.
8-Player
The 8-player playoffs begin this week, and this will be the final poll of the year. Gilman is first, with Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas, McDonell Central, and North Crawford in the same spots behind. Flambeau slips up one spot to fifth, as the division sees six undefeated teams heading into the postseason.
