BOUND WISCONSIN WEEK 8 FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Joe Jensen, Baldwin-Woodville

Baldwin-Woodville wrapped up at least a share of the Middle Border Conference championship with a dominating 49-21 win over Osceola, who entered Friday night 5-0 in the league as well. Joe Jensen completed 15-of-19 passes for 261 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. He added 41 rushing yards on six carries.

Reece Joten, Little Chute

It was a huge showdown in the North Eastern Conference on Thursday between Little Chute and Luxemburg-Casco. Little Chute secured at least a share of the league title, handing Luxemburg-Casco its first loss of the year 42-27. The Mustangs ran for 361 yards in its flexbone attack, including a team-high 117 yards with a touchdown on 10 carries by junior Reece Joten. He also had a 25-yard reception, a team-high 13 tackles, and two tackles for loss.

Christian Rudrud, La Crosse Central

La Crosse Central lost both non-conference games against Waunakee and Ellsworth, but the Riverhawks have rallied with six straight wins, including a 20-6 win over previously undefeated Holmen on Friday that puts the Riverhawks in the league driver’s seat. Quarterback Christian Rudrud was dynamic as usual, rushing for 174 yards and three touchdowns while also throwing for 72 yards.

Brooks Vanderhoof, Stratford

It was a top five showdown in Division 5 with the CWC-Large title on the line, and three-time defending state champion Stratford came out on top, defeating second-ranked Amherst 34-21. Senior running back Brooks Vanderhoof was a workhorse for the Tigers, carrying the ball 35 times for 259 yards and three touchdowns. He also had eight tackles and a forced fumble on defense.

Isaac Wagner, Manitowoc Lutheran

Manitowoc Lutheran defeated Hilbert 54-13 on Friday night, as the unbeaten Lancers have clinched at least a share of the Big East Conference title and can win it outright next week against Reedsville. Isaac Wagner ran the ball seven times for 106 yards and two touchdowns, caught a 12-yard pass, had a pair of tackles, and returned an interception for a touchdown.
