BOUND WISCONSIN WEEK 9 FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Landen Baker, Mayville

Mayville wrapped up an undefeated regular season and secured an outright Flyway Conference championship with a 27-14 win over defending Division 6 state champion Lomira on Friday night. Landen Baker hit on some big plays in the running game, going for 248 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries. He also had a team-high 10 tackles for the Cardinals.

Haiden Carlson, Marshfield

Marshfield scored a 32-30 victory over rival Stevens Point on Friday night, which ended up securing the Tigers a postseason spot when the information was announced on Saturday. Haiden Carlson was a workhorse all night, carrying the ball 30 times for 297 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. It was the 108th meeting between the longtime Wisconsin Valley Conference rivals.

Cole Erdmann, Hamilton

Sussex Hamilton secured a share of the Greater Metro Conference crown on Friday night, closing out the regular season with a 43-26 victory over Brookfield Central. Junior quarterback Cole Erdmann had a hand in all six of the Chargers’ touchdowns, throwing for two and rushing for four. He finished with 175 passing yards in the game, adding 110 yards on the ground on 15 carries.

Grahm Gopalan, Waupun

Waupun posted one of its best regular seasons in years, finishing 8-1 after a 68-35 win over Wisconsin Dells. The Warriors had 702 total yards of offense, which is eighth-most in state history. Senior running back Grahm Gopalan had a career day, rushing 18 times for 326 yards and six touchdowns. He added a 10-yard reception and a 43-yard completion as well.

Zyon White, Wauwatosa East

Wauwatosa East needed to win in Week 9 to ensure they would qualify for the playoffs, and the Red Raiders narrowly got it done in a 28-27 victory over Waukesha North. Senior Zyon White had a big game, carrying the ball 30 times for 276 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 9.2 yards per carry. He added five tackles as a full-time starter on defense as well.
