Bound Wisconsin Week 2 Football Preview

All game times 7 pm unless otherwise noted.

Kimberly (0-1; UR) at Bay Port (1-0; D1 #2) - This is a similar scenario to last year, when Kimberly lost to Hamilton in Week 1 then faced off against Bay Port in Week 2, after the Pirates were victorious over Middleton. Last season, Kimberly rebounded to score a 23-7 victory over Bay Port. Will history repeat itself again?

Appleton North (1-0; D1 #6) at West De Pere (1-0; D1 #5) - Appleton North was impressive in a 10-7 win over Mukwonago, as the Lightning defense came up big. The test is a bit different in Week 2, as the high-flying Phantoms have successfully moved from one Greisen at quarterback (Patrick) to another (Andrew). Just a junior, Andrew threw for 385 yards and five touchdowns against Sun Prairie East last week.

Fox Valley Lutheran (1-0; UR) at Little Chute (1-0; D4 #2) - Fox Valley Lutheran was a dominating 42-0 winner over Kewaunee last week, which also happens to be the score of Little Chute’s win over Xavier.

Brillion (1-0; D5 #10) at Manitowoc Lutheran (1-0; D6 #7) - Manitowoc Lutheran had a strong 2025 campaign and is looking good again this year, putting a running clock on crosstown foe Roncalli last week. Brillion is coming off a 41-6 victory against Sturgeon Bay and also snuck into the Coaches Poll this week.

Bonduel (1-0; D6 #4) at Coleman (1-0; D7 #3) - These teams advanced to the sectional finals of their respective divisions last season, but not before meeting up in Week 2 in 2025 as well. Bonduel came out on top that time, 33-12, as Quinn Wesenberg threw three touchdowns and Malachi Gray and Carter Moesch each rushed for over 100, with Moesch recording over 100 receiving yards as well. All three of those players return this year.

New Richmond (1-0; D2 #5) at Stevens Point (1-0; UR) - New Richmond had no trouble with Eau Claire Memorial last week. In a surprise, Stevens Point blew out a solid River Falls team 41-18. Senior quarterback Trent Breitbach accounted for 447 yards of offense and five touchdowns.

Chippewa Falls (1-0; UR) at Eau Claire Memorial (0-1; UR) - This marks the 117th meeting between these old Big Rivers Conference rivals dating back to 1895, with Eau Claire Memorial holding a commanding 69-43-5 advantage in the all-time series.

Lena-Winslow (IL) at Darlington (1-0; D5 #1) - Both of these teams won state championships last year, Darlington in Wisconsin’s Division 6, and Lena-Winslow in Illinois’ 1A (smallest division). Darlington hammered Saint Mary’s Springs last week, while Lena-Winslow lost a close one to Benet Academy (IL), a much larger school.

Stockton (IL) at Black Hawk/Warren (1-0; D7 #2) - Yet another huge border battle in southwest Wisconsin, as Black Hawk/Warren will take on Stockton, who was the number one seed in Illinois’ 1A before losing to Lena-Winslow in the state semi-finals, after beating them earlier in the season.

Franklin (0-1; UR) at Waunakee (0-1; UR) - It is odd to see neither of these teams ranked this week, as both suffered opening losses. Franklin fell to former Southeast Conference foe Racine Case, while Waunakee went down at Muskego. One of them will get back on track and pick up a huge early non-conference victory, while the loser will take an 0-2 record into the conference season.

Edgerton (1-0; UR) at Delavan-Darien (0-1; UR) - Fans checking out this one should settle in, as each features a strong passing attack that put up big numbers last week. Edgerton racked up 332 passing yards in a win over Brodhead/Juda, while Delavan-Darien had more than 300 yards through the air in a loss to Elkhorn.

McFarland (1-0; UR) at Lake Mills (0-1; UR) - McFarland showed off a strong rushing attack last week, as Jayden Bloodsaw had 261 yards in a win over Turner. Lake Mills is looking to rebound after a shocking 40-0 shutout loss to Freedom last week when All-State quarterback Tyler Wollin completed just 13-of-33 passes for 82 yards.

Holmen (1-0; D2 #9) at Sauk Prairie (1-0; UR) - Holmen hammered Sauk Prairie 42-0 in Week 2 last season, though Sauk would go on to win a share of the Badger-Small Conference title. Holmen struggled to get past Medford last week, while Sauk Prairie had no trouble with Baraboo.

Boscobel (0-1; UR) at Fennimore (1-0; UR) - These teams have met 91 previous times, with Fennimore leading the series 60-28-2.

Belleville (1-0; D6 #8) at New Glarus (1-0; UR) - These neighbors, who also co-op in some sports including soccer, have met 76 previous times as either standalone programs or in co-ops with other schools, and New Glarus holds a 43-31-2 advantage.

Whitefish Bay (1-0; D3 #4) at Union Grove (1-0; UR), 5 pm - This is a 5 pm start due to damage to one of the light standards at Union Grove High School. The Broncos were a 17-7 winner over Kettle Moraine last week, while Whitefish Bay opened with an impressive 39-9 victory against Whitnall.

Mukwonago (0-1; UR) at Badger (0-1; UR) - Both teams are looking to get back on track after opening losses. For Mukwonago it was a low-scoring affair against Appleton North, while Badger was shocked 52-12 by Kenosha Bradford. Badger head coach Matt Hensler is a Mukwonago graduate, where he played for his father Keith.

Racine Case (1-0; D1 #8) at Hamilton (1-0; D1 #4) - Two of the more impressive victors of Week 1 will meet up, as Racine Case is coming off a historic 20-10 victory over Franklin, the Eagles’ first win over the Sabers in at least 40 years. Hamilton went into Kimberly and scored a third win over the Papermakers in the last 12 months.

Slinger (1-0; D2 #10) at Grafton (0-1; D2 #7) - Slinger didn’t play a clean game but managed to get past DeForest in Week 1. Grafton wasn’t so lucky, as the defending state champions fell to Mount Horeb/Barneveld 14-10 to open the year.

Mayville (1-0; D5 #2) at Lake Country Lutheran (1-0; D5 #5) - Mayville is the defending state champion in Division 5, and looked the part in a shutout win over Cedar Grove-Belgium to begin the year. Lake Country Lutheran is always a threat to go deep in the playoffs, as these teams actually met in last year’s state semi-finals, with Mayville scoring a 27-15 win after trailing entering the fourth quarter.

Baldwin-Woodville (1-0; D3 #9) at Pewaukee (1-0; D2 #2) - Baldwin-Woodville makes the long trip down to Pewaukee, as the Blackhawks look for challenging competition. Moved up to D3 this year, they’ll take on a Pewaukee team that was extremely impressive in a 42-7 win over Greendale in Week 1.

Mount Horeb/Barneveld (1-0; D3 #3) at Port Washington (1-0; D3 #7) - A top ten matchup in Division 3, as Mount Horeb/Barneveld is coming off a win over defending state champion Grafton, while Port Washington is flying high after a big offensive performance in a victory against Sheboygan North.

Kaukauna (1-0; D2 #4) at Notre Dame (1-0; D2 #1) - Notre Dame played an incredible game against Neenah last week, rallying from a two-score deficit in the fourth quarter to win 56-53 in overtime, as All-World running back Kingston Allen ran for 458 yards and seven touchdowns. Kaukauna’s opening week was less stressful, as they were a 34-point winner over West Allis Hale.

Arrowhead (1-0; D1 #1) at Neenah (0-1; D1 #10) - Defending state champion Arrowhead very much looked the part once again, dominating Marquette last week. Neenah played an incredible game last week but came up short in a 56-53 overtime loss to Notre Dame. Rockets quarterback Ashton Van Beek will have to

Randolph/Cambria-Friesland (1-0; UR) at Hilbert (1-0; D7 #7) - The newly formed Randolph/Cambria-Friesland co-op looked good in Week 1, pounding Catholic Central/Kenosha Christian Life 56-14. Hilbert is the one ranked this week, however, as the Wolves pulled out a 21-14 win over Saint Mary Catholic.

Milwaukee King (1-0; UR) at Lomira (1-0; D6 #6) - Milwaukee King beat Milwaukee Reagan last week, and the Generals get a chance to further test themselves as one of the few MPS teams to play outside of Milwaukee, traveling to take on a very good small school Lomira team.

Marinette (1-0; UR) at Menominee (MI) - Marinette and Menominee (MI) are separated by just 3.2 miles, the Menominee River, and a state border. Menomonie (MI) leads that series 61-51-7, including a 49-13 victory a year ago.

Winneconne (1-0; UR) at Omro (0-1; UR) - The teams play for the China Bull Trophy, as this be the 78th time overall that they have met up. Winneconne leads 43-33-1 in the series.

Campbellsport (0-1; UR) at Kewaskum (0-1; UR) - These teams first met in 1925 and played every year since 1965, with Campbellsport leading 41-34-2 in the previous 77 contests.

Stratford (1-0; D4 #9) at Edgar (1-0; D6 #3) - Marawood rivals for decades, these teams continue their history in non-league action nowadays. Both teams posted shutouts in Week 1, and Edgar won 14-0 over Stratford in last year’s matchup. This will be the 71st meeting all-time (including the 2008 state title game), with Edgar leading 38-31-1.

Winnebago Lutheran (1-0; D5 #9) at Amherst (1-0; D5 #4) - The Week 1 results for these ranked D5 teams is about as different as you can get. Winnebago Lutheran scored a narrow 13-12 win over Watertown Luther Prep. On the other end of the spectrum, Amherst was a 56-0 winner over Clintonville.

Abbotsford (1-0; UR) at Colby (1-0; UR) - These schools co-op in other high school sports, and their youth teams combine to play together. With both teams entering 1-0, it should be a great atmosphere for these neighboring communities, whose schools are separated by just three miles.

Osceola (1-0; D4 #4) at Mondovi (D6 #1) - Osceola was impressive in a 35-20 win over Columbus last Thursday night. The Chieftains get an extremely stiff test in Week 2, as they travel to take on Division 6 top-ranked Mondovi.

Saint Croix Falls (1-0; D5 #7) at Grantsburg (1-0; D5 #3) - A couple top ten teams in Division 5 meet up, with Saint Croix Falls coming out of the Heart O’North Conference while Grantsburg is part of the Lakeland Conference.

Cameron (1-0; UR) at Boyceville (1-0; D7 #5) - Cameron snuck by Barron last week, but things will be even tougher this week, as the Comets make the trek to Boyceville, the fifth-ranked team in Division 7.

Saint Mary’s Springs (0-1; UR) at Racine St. Catherine’s (1-0; D4 #5) - Springs is looking to bounce back after a running clock shutout loss to Darlington last week. They’ll travel to former WISAA foe Racine St. Catherine’s, who shutout Milwaukee Academy of Science 35-0.
