As we are just under two weeks away from the end of the regular season, many conference races are still up in the air with plenty of important games left to be played. However, a few have been determined. Below we will go through each conference in the state and break down the conference race and who is still in it, and who is not.

We will update this article each night to reflect the updates in the standings.

Outlook

Of the three tied at the top, Beaver Dam does not have a game with any of the contenders left, so the path to a title is in their hands. Tonight’s matchup with Waunakee and Oregon is huge and has serious implications at the top, while both DeForest and Monona Grove will need help in order to finish with at least a share come seasons end.

Outlook

With McFarland’s win over Sauk Prairie last week, the Spartans sit in control of their own destiny in the league. The February 20 matchup between Mount Horeb and McFarland is the biggest game left on the schedule for any of the contenders, while Sauk will have to get by Stoughton tonight as well.

Reedsville - Saint Mary Catholic, Manitowoc Lutheran
Howards Grove - Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, @Hilbert
Manitowoc Lutheran: @Hilbert, @Reedsville

Outlook

The game between Saint Mary Catholic and Reedsville on February 20 is the biggest on the list of remaining as an SMC win clinches the title outright, while a Reedsville win puts the Panthers in the lead position. Reedsville won the first matchup by 8 back in January. If Reedsville wins, Manitowoc Lutheran’s game with the Panthers then has huge implications.

Oostburg: 10-0
Sheboygan Lutheran: 8-2

Remaining Schedules for Contenders

Oostburg - Sheboygan Christian, @Sheboygan Lutheran
Sheboygan Lutheran - @Ozaukee, Oostburg

Outlook

Sheboygan Lutheran would need a huge upset victory by Sheboygan Christian to make the game on February 26 mean anything in terms of conference standings. The Flying Dutchmen are undefeated in league play however and beat Christian by 31 in the first matchup. A win on February 20 would clinch the title outright for Oostburg.

Madison Memorial: @Madison La Follette, Madison East, @Middleton
Middleton: Verona, Madison West, Madison Memorial
Verona: @Middleton, Janesville Craig, @Madison West

Outlook

Both Memorial and Middleton have tough matchup before the ultimate showdown next Thursday. Memorial will play a La Follette team that needed four overtimes to determine a winner in the first matchup, while Middleton had a Verona team that was a two-point victory in the first game. This does look like a two-horse race as Verona would need each team to lose two of their remaining three games to force that tie.

New Richmond: 7-4

Remaining Schedules for Contenders

New Richmond: Hudson, Rice Lake, Chippewa Falls

Outlook

Hudson has the hardest path to the conference title as they still have New Richmond on the schedule, while River Falls has two teams in the bottom three left on their league schedule. If both win out, it will be a shared conference title. Of note, River Falls did beat Hudson twice this season.

Columbus: @Lake Mills, Lakeside Lutheran, Poynette
Lakeside Lutheran: @Poynette, @Columbus, Waupun

Outlook

With one win, Lake Mills will clinch a share of the title and with two, they’ll win it outright. The first matchup between Lake Mills and Columbus was a 31-point L-Cats win, which serves as a massive uphill battle for either Columbus or Lakeside to claim a share of the crown.

New Glarus: @Waterloo, Marshall, @Cambridge
Marshall: Waterloo, @New Glarus, @Wisconsin Heights

Outlook

This one could get interesting down the stretch as each of the top three play at least one game versus one of the top three. New Glarus has the toughest task as they have both Marshall and Cambridge on the schedule. The Glarner Knights have beat Cambridge, but lost to Marshall. If that repeats itself, we’re looking at a potential three-way tie for the conference title.

Outlook

With a win over Manitowoc Lincoln, De Pere will knock out Bay Port and West De Pere of contention in the FRCC. Notre Dame has a gauntlet to get thru to make that final regular season game with De Pere to mean anything. If the Tritons go 2-0 or 1-1 against West De Pere and Bay Port, the finale with the Redbirds will be for either a clinch or outright win of the FRCC title.

If Kaukauna wins one game, Kimberly and Neenah are out of the conference race. The Galloping Ghosts get a red-hot Kimberly team tonight, and with a win set up just a two-horse race with the Lightning.
