The Green Bay Packers have announced that Jeramie Korth of Menasha High School in Menasha, Wis., has been named the Packers High School Coach of the Week.
Korth, in his 19th season as head coach at Menasha, has the Bluejays out to a 5-1 record heading into a massive conference showdown Friday against Notre Dame Academy. Since taking over the football program in 2008, Korth has led the Bluejays to 18 consecutive winning seasons, including two state championship appearances and an undefeated Division 2 state title in 2014. The program’s success under Korth reflects the culture he has built.
“Everything that we do here at Menasha is based on trust,” Korth said. “When we talk to our kids about how to build a program, we talk about how building a great program is like building a great relationship; everything starts with trust. Everything that I try to do as a coach is what I try to have our kids do; I want them to be great communicators, trustworthy, reliable and, at the end of the day, I want them to be great people that others can rely on someday.”
This deeply rooted culture was tested this offseason when, just weeks before their first football game, a devastating storm and tornado damaged the stadium, city and surrounding community.
With destruction directly affecting the lives of those in the football program and greater community, Korth and his staff were faced with issues much bigger than football. However, the program found positives in the adversity, using the deep connections they held as a team and with the sport as a beacon of hope.
“When the tornado hit, it turned our world upside down,” said Korth. “But I’ve always been someone who believes that anything bad that happens, there’s still something good that can come from it, so we’ve been able to find the positives. Us just being able to get back on the football field helped our community and was a positive. It was so uplifting to be able to have people from our community be there.
“Obviously, our kids were devastated with what happened to their community, but our kids have really stepped up to rattle off five wins in a row now,” he added. “We’ve stayed positive, stayed the course, and our kids have just been awesome. Menasha is a beautiful town, and we have a lot of kids that want to work hard. They love football, and they love each other, so we’ve been able to take those positives out of this situation and come together and work together as a program and community.”
Korth grew up in Menasha, Wis., and attended Menasha High School, where he played quarterback and linebacker for the Bluejays under head coach John Nagel before graduating in 1995. Korth went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stout and then the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, playing linebacker at both schools under head coaches Ed Meierkort and Ron Cardo.
After graduating in 2001, Korth started coaching middle school football in Menasha. He served as a high school assistant for several years before being named the head coach at his alma mater in 2008.
Korth is honored to win the Coach of the Week award but is quick to recognize those around him.
“I have a great staff, some of whom have been with me from the beginning, and they’re great friends of mine,” Korth said. “I get to coach with a great staff and give back to my hometown and community, which is something that is extremely important to me and that I try to model every day. It’s an honor for both me and those around me, and hopefully it’s great for Menasha.”
Korth and his staff oversee a program of 75 players, with 50 suiting up for each varsity game. His assistant staff includes Richard Waldburger, Tristan Wohlrabe-Fritsch, Mac Augustine, Billy Bedat-Smith, Dennis O’Connor, Dan Beck, Mitch Augustine, Bryan Paine, Ty Carlson, Nick Carlson, Josh Lamberg, Mike VanBeck, Ricky Martinez, Brandon Ertl, Nick Losselyong, Craig Korth, Jason Trader, Lee Thomas and Bo Carlson.
In addition to coaching, Korth is a special education teacher at Maplewood Middle School in Menasha. He and his wife, Krysta, have a daughter, Alyx, and a son, AJ.

The Packers will recognize one outstanding high school coach as their ‘Coach of the Week’ winner during the 2026 high school football season. Winners are awarded several items and privileges, including a $1,000 donation to the school’s football program from the Green Bay Packers and the NFL Foundation, as well as recognition of the award on Packers.com, boundwisconsin.com and wifca.org.

The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
