Quintin Arizola of Delvan-Darien has been selected as the Level 1 Bound Wisconsin Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. His big day helped the Comets score an upset road win to advance in the playoffs. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 1. A total of 12,034 votes were cast, as Arizola’s 5,162 were enough to edge out second place Will Mikonowicz of Reedsburg, who tallied 5,086 votes.

It was a shootout as expected on Friday night, with Delavan-Darien beating fourth-seeded Waupun 56-44 on the road. Junior quarterback Quintin Arizola continued his big season with 419 passing yards and five touchdowns, completing 26-of-34 passes. He added six carries for 27 yards as well. Arizola now leads the state in passing yards on the season.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Bound Wisconsin Football Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
