These are two of the top teams in the Six Rivers-East with Barneveld holding a two-game lead in the standings coming into this one. A win by the Vikings goes a long way in closing that gap and putting them right back in the race, while a loss will make that much more difficult and dependent on Barneveld slipping up against the teams lower in the standings.

Hayward is half a game back in the Heart O’North standings, and a win on Monday night puts them in the drivers seat. These two squads will finish the regular season against each other, so these next few weeks are important with tonight’s game having the opportunity to set a tone.

Two very talented teams in opposite divisions of the Rock Valley will do battle on Monday night. East Troy comes into this one having won six straight games including an 11-point win over Edgerton last week. Turner is 2-2 in its last four games, but those losses came to Monroe and ranked Lake Mills. This game could have big implications as far as playoff seeding as well, as East Troy was listed a four seed and Turner the seven seed in the bottom half of sectional 3.

Friday the WIAA mid-season playoff seeding information came out and G-E-T was the one seed while Altoona was the four-seed in their shared half sectional. This game will have a big impact on that seeding in two weeks. G-E-T has a trio in Talon Fabian (2028), Travis Theisen (2026), and Mason Brone (2026) that complement one another very well. For Altoona, the junior duo of Graysen Becker and Owen Gunderson are dynamic playmakers that both average over 20 points per game.

Seymour is one of four undefeated teams left in boys basketball this season. The closest game for the Thunder? A one-point win over Fox Valley Lutheran in January. Seymour has rolled for the most part this season stacking impressive victories along the way. Fox Valley has has played everyone close and has a chance to knock off one of the unbeaten squads in the state.

The Cloverbelt-West conference race is one to watch as these two squads have one loss in league play (two better than the next two teams), but also play each other twice over the next eight days. Both are ranked, have played tough schedules, and are locked in a battle for the top seed in their half sectional. The game tonight and next Monday night are extremely important for a myriad of reasons for both squads.

This is a really good Cloverbelt/Marawood cross-over in February. Rib Lake has rattled off 10 wins in its last 12 games with losses coming to Prentice and Stratford. Head coach Todd Henderson’s squad is led by his son’s Jed (2026), Blake (2028), and Seth Borchardt (2026). The Dons are led by a coaches son of their own in Mac Konieczny (2026), son of head coach Joe Konieczny.

Everest is coming off handing Marshfield its first conference loss in the Wisconsin Valley in over three years and forcing a three-way tie in the standings with Everest, SPASH, and Marshfield. This then becomes a big game in the WVC for the rest of the way as Stevens Point does have Marshfield on the docket later this week.

With a win on Tuesday night, Turtle Lake all but locks up the Lakeland-West title. Turtle Lake won the first matchup between these squads despite Brandon Wagner being held to just 9 points. Webster big man Quinn Widiker was held to 0/9 shooting from the field.
