Emma Sampson of Fall River had a big game for the D5 South WBCA All-Star team

The annual Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Girls' All-Star Games were held on Wednesday, July 24, at JustAgame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells.

The North All-Stars won three of the five games.

Division 1: North 90, South 85

The North WBCA All-Stars defeated the South squad 90-85 in the day's final game. De Pere’s Abby Tassoul and Pewaukee’s Vanessa Johnson led the way for the North, tallying 20 points apiece. For the South, Waunakee’s Graycin Phillips scored a team-high 14 points, while Madison Memorial’s Ni'Kera Martin and Monona Grove’s Sydney Glynn each had 13 points.

Division 2: North 96, South 83

The Division 2 WBCA All-Star Game was won by the North, 96-83. Nayeli Kilen of Milton led the North with 22 points. River Falls’ Hayley Quinn contributed 21 points. Leading the way for the South squad was Charlotte Wentworth of Pius XI, who poured in 20 points. Sami Sarner of Catholic Memorial contributed 15 points.

Division 3: North 92, South 55

The North WBCA All-Stars dominated the fourth-quarter, outscoring the South 38-2 in the final period, to pull away for a 92-55 win in the Division 3 contest. Violet Otto of Prescott scored a game-high 29 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter eruption for the North. Rory Salvesen of Wittenberg-Birnamwood added 15, while Ady Ketterhagen from Oostburg scored 12 points. Natalie Backhaus of Wisconsin Dells was the only South player to reach double-figures, scoring 14 points.

Division 4: South 89, North 74

The South squad pulled out an 89-74 victory behind a very balanced attack that saw six players score at least nine points. Brooklyn Love of Dominican led the way with 14 points, while Alecia Dahl of Brodhead and Bronte Hulberg from Pardeeville added 12 points. Jasmin Heuer of Fall Creek paced the North squad with 16 points, while Megan Hochkammer from Valders contributed 15 points.

Division 5: South 85, North 51

The South team dominated the first game of the day, racing out to a 43-20 halftime advantage and cruising to an 85-51 victory. Fall River’s Emma Sampson had a game-high 16 points for the South, which also got 11 from her teammate Natalie Fietz, and Andrea Waldera chipped in with 10. Mya Dernbach of Almond-Bancroft was the only North player to reach double-figures with 11.
