Monday, January 6

Demarion Epperson, Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy, senior

Epperson got to the rim at will in an 87-41 win over Chesterton Academy. The senior had a monster double-double with 34 points and 17 rebounds in the victory. He added seven steals from the defensive side.

Ben Prochnow, Reedsville, senior

Reedsville scored a big win over Howards Grove on Monday night, securing the lone spot atop the Big East-North standings. The Panther’s senior point guard was feeling it from the field, scoring at all three levels. Prochnow finished with a team high 30 points in the 65-57 victory.

Riley Schultz-Becker, Athens, senior

Schultz-Becker nearly had a triple-double as Athens came away with a 57-44 win over Three Lakes. The senior leader filled the stat sheet in the victory, scoring 21 points, hauling in 11 rebounds, and adding 6 assists. Defensively he was active as well, recording 9 steals.

Kale Schneider (jr) & Theo Traeder (sr), Lodi

The guard duo of Schneider and Traeder both recorded double-doubles as Lodi secured an 88-53 win over Jefferson on Monday night. Traeder, the senior sharpshooter, finished with a stat line of 21 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Schneider, the junior point guard, ended with 15 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.

  • Landon Brattlie, Deerfield, sr - 31 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 steals in 58-41 win over Clinton

  • Damien Hebert, Saint Ambrose Academy, jr - 10 points & 16 rebounds in 55-53 win over Brodhead

  • Noah Schwartz, Viroqua, frosh - 23 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists in 56-50 loss to Hillsboro

  • Truth Setner, Florence, sr - 30 points in 65-57 loss to Niagara

  • Mason Uhlenbrauck, Saint Mary Catholic, sr - 23 points on 6 of 12 from deep in 92-66 win over Elkhart-Lake Glenbeulah

  • Jamison Zavatchin, Oostburg, sr - 34 points, 6 rebounds, & 5 assists in 83-51 win over Kohler

Tuesday, January 7

Blake Bradley, Ripon, sophomore

Bradley was on fire from deep as Ripon pushed Ozaukee but eventually fell 73-72 on Tuesday night. The sophomore, who was one of the top scorers in the state as a freshman, poured in 39 points for the Tigers. He was 9 of 13 from beyond the arc.

Anthony Brooks, Cudahy, senior

Brooks had a career night, shattering the school record for points in a game as Cudahy took home a 110-78 win over Random Lake. The senior, who is averaging over 24 points per game, scored 54 points in the victory.

Andrew Dillin, Mauston, freshman

Dillin had a new career high as Mauston squeaked by River Valley 69-63. The freshman guard poured in 26 points for the Golden Eagles, all of those needed, as he continues to improve and form a solid 1-2 underclassmen punch with sophomore wing Jase Navis.

Omar Fofana, Saint Thomas More, senior

Fofana is the senior leader for a Cavaliers group that improved to 4-5 with an 80-68 win over Pius XI Catholic on Tuesday night. Fofana finished with 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in the victory, displaying his overall effect on the game.

Brennen Hackbarth, Sheboygan Lutheran, senior

Hackbarth joined a special group of Crusaders on Tuesday night as he led his group to an 86-66 win over Living Word Lutheran. The senior wing poured in 28 points in the victory and in doing so, joined the 1,000 point club.

Amare Hereford, Beloit Memorial, senior

Hereford continues to dazzle in his senior year, leading an unbeaten Beloit Memorial team into the middle of January. The senior lead guard filled the stat sheet yet again in a 90-65 win over Elkhorn. Hereford finished with 37 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and 5 steals.

Quincy Mosley, Madison West, senior

Madison West has been playing some good basketball over the past few weeks, and Mosley has been the driving force behind that. In a 92-81 loss to Sun Prairie West, Mosley poured in a new career high 39 points points for the Regents.

Brody Schaffer, Winneconne, senior

Schaffer is one of the best football players in the state and is heading to Iowa following graduation this spring. He’s also very talented on the basketball court. Tuesday night, the senior multi-sport standout scored 24 points though the Wolves fell 81-68 to Fox Valley Lutheran. Schaffer hit the 1,000 point mark in his prep career with that output.

Kayden Schultz, Plymouth, senior

Schultz was on it from the tip in Plymouth’s 80-67 win over West Bend East. One of the top scorers in the state, Schultz poured in a new career high, 50 points on 17 of 29 shooting from the field and 7 of 15 from three. To round out his night, Schultz added seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

Tyler Schwalbach, Kaukauna, sophomore

Kaukauna eked out a 57-55 victory over Neenah to stay undefeated on the year and take over sole possession of first in the Fox Valley Association. Schwalbach led the Galloping Ghosts with 19 points on 8 of 10 shooting. He was active on defense as well, finishing with 4 blocks.

Wednesday, January 8

Xavier Allen, Milwaukee Lutheran, senior

Allen did all he could in a game of attrition, but Milwaukee Lutheran fell in a quadruple overtime thriller to Madison Memorial 102-100. The senior guard finished with 28 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals in the loss.

Jayce Cook, New Berlin West, junior

The Vikings suffered a last-second heart breaking loss to Dominican on Wednesday night, but there was a moment to celebrate. Cook, just a junior, joined the 1,000 point club, joining teammate Evan Kern in hitting that milestone this season.

KJ Cross, Madison Memorial, junior

The Madison Memorial and Milwaukee Lutheran game on Wednesday night was one for the ages as it went to quadruple overtime, had over 200 combined points scored, and had plenty of lead changes down the stretch. In the third overtime, Cross’s teammate Ezra Liggon hit a contested triple to force a fourth overtime where fireworks erupted yet again. Down one, Cross took the ball and floated a one-footed runner from beyond the arc right through the net to secure the 102-100 victory for the Spartans.

Thursday, January 9

Jayce Brechtl, Waterford, senior

Waterford took a big step forward in the Southern Lakes conference and knocked Beloit Memorial from the land of the unbeaten teams on Thursday night. Brechtl played a huge role, effecting the game in every facet on offense and defense. In the 64-53 victory, the senior forward filled the stat sheet with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks.

Henry Gruetzmacher, Brookfield Central, senior

Gruetzmacher has been nothing short of unstoppable so far in his senior campaign. In a 98-47 win over West Allis Hale, the Green Bay commit poured in a triple-double. The crafty big man had 20 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Austin Olson, Blair-Taylor, senior

Blair-Taylor was down four with under a minute left, but roared back and came away with a 66-64 victory over Alma/Pepin. Olson provided the final bucket as he drove baseline and saw a contested layup go through the net as time expired to win it.

Peyton Pica, Wautoma, junior

Pica had a career night as Wautoma took home a 75-66 win over Nekoosa. The junior guard poured in 36 points for the Hornets while knocking down seven shots from deep. He added ten rebounds, recording a double-double in
