The 2025-26 high school boys basketball season was certainly one for the record books, as a number of players have etched their names in history.
The single-game, single-season, and career scoring records lists have all been updated by the WBCA following completion of the 2025-26 campaign.
Below are highlights and updates based on new entries for this year.
Single-Game Scoring Leaders
There are no new entries this year on the single-game scoring list, which tracks those that have scored at least 60 points in a game.
The top two scoring performances this season were 58-point outbursts by J.J. Heikkinen of Phillips and Josh Manchester of Mount Horeb.
Season Scoring Records
With more games than ever and more game time than ever thanks to recent rules changes, it is no surprise that the single-season record book continues to see new entries every year.
Beloit Memorial senior Amare Hereford was the only player to break into this list in 2025-26, though he certainly made an impression. His 1,013 points this year places him fourth on the single-season list, behind two seasons from Wausaukee’s Anthony Pieper and the 2019-20 campaign from Sheboygan Lutheran’s Jacob Ognacevic. Hereford averaged 37.5 points per game in his senior campaign, playing at a very efficient level, shooting 60.7% overall, 45% from three, and 83% from the free throw line.
Career Scoring Records
Like the single-season scoring list, the state's career scoring list has been re-written in recent seasons with more games and additional minutes added in over the years. A total of 22 players added their name to or moved up the all-time scoring list, which includes all those with at least 1900 career points.
Josh Manchester from Mount Horeb moves into the top ten on the career list, despite missing some time this year and last season. He finishes his four-year career with 2,532 points after scoring 601 as a senior. He sits at number ten on the state’s career scoring list.
Beloit Memorial’s Amare Hereford scored more than 1000 points in his senior year alone, and ends his career with the Purple Knights at 2,493 points, which is good for 12th all-time.
Jamison Zavatchin of Oostburg is 19th on the list with 2,362 points. LaMont Hamilton of Racine St. Catherine’s and Kayden Schultz of Plymouth also move into the top 25 all-time. Peshtigo’s Dominik Baxter and Parkview’s Aiden Crane find themselves on the list as well.
