Bound Wisconsin Basketball Player of the Week - Feb. 2-8

Lauden Berg, Southern Door BBB
Southern Door has had its share of struggles this season, but posted back-to-back wins last week. The Eagles beat a solid Crivitz squad 64-43 behind a game-high 27 points from senior Lauden Berg, who added 10 rebounds, nine blocks, and six assists. In a 58-42 win against rival Sturgeon Bay, Berg led the Eagles with 19 points, 14 rebounds, six blocks, and five assists.

EllaMay Cooper, Regis GBB
Regis scored a couple key Cloverbelt-West wins to take over first place. It started with a 69-54 win over Stanley-Boyd, a game in which EllaMay Cooper led the Ramblers with 23 points, adding 10 rebounds and seven assists. The big one was a 66-49 win against rival McDonell Central on Thursday, avenging an earlier loss to the Macks. Cooper poured in 29 points with seven assists and four rebounds in that one.


Samantha Davis, Aquinas GBB

Jace Mataczynski, Hudson BBB
Hudson is in the thick of the Big Rivers Conference race, currently tied atop the standings. The Raiders scored a pair of wins last week to keep pace, as senior Jace Mataczynski scored a game-high 20 points with seven rebounds and five assists in an 82-58 win over Chippewa Falls. Hudson also defeated Eau Claire Memorial 89-62 behind a 47-point eruption from Mataczynski, who knocked down eight, three-pointers.

Travis Wilson serves as the Bound Wisconsin Manager. Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
