Bound Wisconsin Basketball Team of the Week - Feb. 2-8

Kiel GBB

Kiel has won 11 games in a row, sitting alone atop the Eastern Wisconsin Conference. In the team’s lone game last week, the Raiders rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to beat Valders 57-49 in overtime. Liz Neils had 15 points to lead the way, while Maddie McDole added 14 and Taavi Saeger 13.

Lomira BBB

The Lomira boys basketball team scored a couple quality victories last week. They’d need double overtime to get past Xavier 100-94. Jake Broeske, Jackson Bloohm, and Cooper King all scored over 20 points in the win. The Lions also defeated Winnebago Lutheran 67-61 later in the week as Broeske had 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Oregon BBB

Oregon struggled through a six-game losing streak earlier this year, but the Panthers are playing much better recently. Things really came together last week with a pair of impressive wins over ranked teams. Oregon defeated D2 ninth-ranked McFarland 61-56 behind a strong group effort. In a Badger-Large Conference game, the Panthers beat fifth-ranked Beaver Dam 58-39.

Valley Christian GBB

It was an amazing week for the Valley Christian girls basketball team. They started it with a 76-65 win over Saint Mary’s Springs as junior Mya Moran and senior Lizzie Fink combined for 56 points. They’d beat Wild Rose 85-51, with Moran and Fink combining for 58 points while Paige Boevers had a triple-double (and near quadruple-double) with 19 points, 14 assists, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. The Warriors beat Lourdes Academy 60-53, their first win over the Knights in 18 years.

Webster GBB

It was a three-game week for the Webster girls team, who are running way with the Lakeland-West Conference title. They’d defeat Cadott 59-44 in a non-conference game, as junior Avery Hetfeld scored 20 points with 13 rebounds. They’d defeat Luck 55-24, as Hetfield again led the way with 16 points. The Tigers capped things off with a hard-fought 39-21 win over Turtle Lake.
