Bound Wisconsin Basketball Player of the Week - Feb. 9-15

Madi Davel, Neillsville GBB
Neillsville wrapped up the Cloverbelt-East title last week with a trio of league wins. Junior Madi Davel had a team-high 22 points in a 69-26 win over Loyal. Davel had 19 points with six rebounds and five steals in a 64-26 victory against D5 fifth-ranked Columbus Catholic. She’d score 15 points in a 61-13 victory against Spencer.

Melaina Granquist, Wittenberg-Birnamwood GBB
Wittenberg-Birnamwood scored a pair of top ten wins last week as they secured a CWC-East title. The Chargers defeated D5 #3 Pacelli 71-69 on Tuesday, with senior Melaina Granquist pouring in 29 points with 13 rebounds. Wittenberg-Birnamwood secured the league crown with a 71-38 win over tenth-ranked Bonduel. Granquist had 17 points and 13 rebounds in that one.

Ady Ketterhagen, Oostburg GBB
What a week it was for Oostburg, who scored a win over D1 #2 Arrowhead 69-60 on Tuesday to cement their place as one of the state’s elites regardless of division. Senior Ady Ketterhagen poured in a game-high 21 points in the victory, adding five rebounds and four steals. She’d score 18 points in a 70-33 win over Big East-South second place Kohler.

Casey Lyon, Whitewater BBB
Whitewater went 3-0 last week as the Whippets head into the home stretch of the season. First was a 66-60 win over Clinton, as Casey Lyon had 27 points and 16 rebounds. Whitewater also beat Waterloo 61-47, with Lyon adding 31 points and 12 rebounds. Lyon then poured in 40 points with 14 rebounds in a 73-63 win over Jefferson.

TJ Platz, Brookfield East BBB

Travis Wilson serves as the Bound Wisconsin Manager. Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
