Bound Wisconsin Basketball Team of the Week - Dec. 1-7

Argyle/Pecatonica GBB

In a huge game in the Six Rivers Conference, Argyle/Pecatonica held off Albany/Monticello by a score of 42-39 on Tuesday. It is the first of at least two meetings between the small-school Six Rivers standouts, who met in the 2024 state tournament as well. Juniors Aleah Harris and Brooke Wellnitz each scored in double-figures and combined for 19 rebounds. The co-op program topped Shullsburg later in the week.

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah BBB

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah got its boys season underway last week, scoring a trio of dominating victories. They began with a 97-33 win over Random Lake on Monday, then followed it up with a 76-38 win against Gibraltar on Tuesday night. On Friday, they took down Faith Christian 88-62. Sophomore Brayden Smith had a huge week, averaging 32 points per game, while Ethan Fromm, Dakota Koehler, and Soren Holzwart average in double figures as well.

Fox Valley Lutheran GBB

The Fox Valley Lutheran girls basketball team had just one game last week, but sure made it count. Going on the road, the Foxes beat D2 sixth-ranked Shawano 54-45 in a Bay Conference upset. Freshman Kinley Peterson had a team-high 14 points for the Foxes, while sophomore Brianna Dahlke had 11 points and eight rebounds. It’s a very young group, with six freshmen that played for FVL.

Mauston BBB

Mauston opened South Central Conference play with a pair of impressive victories last week. The Golden Eagles downed Berlin 55-51 on Tuesday, then really made a statement with a 68-36 win over perennial power Wisconsin Dells on Saturday. Sophomore standout Jase Navis had 25 points and 11 rebounds in the first game, with 23 points and 20 rebounds in the win over the Dells. Senior Will Miller and freshman Andrew Dillin were outstanding as well.

Waterford BBB

Waterford had quite the week, starting things off with a bang when Caden Gustafson hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to take down D2 top-ranked Wauwatosa West 59-56 on Monday. Gustafson finished with 22 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists. The Wolverines would cruise to dominating wins over Westosha Central and Whitnall later in the week by running clock scores.
