Week 3 Bound Wisconsin Football Coaches Poll

It is time to take a look at this week’s Bound Wisconsin Football Coaches Poll. Division assignment this year is based on official WIAA assignments released prior to the start of the season. Arrowhead dominated the second half of its game against D3 #1 Catholic Memorial, and the Warhawks stay on top of the Division 1 rankings. Bay Port is second, followed by Muskego, Hamilton, and West De Pere in the top five. Appleton North moves into the poll this week, as Mukwonago falls out.

Notre Dame stays atop the Division 2 rankings, but Monona Grove slides just ahead of Homestead for the second spot. Union Grove is undefeated and makes a big jump from unranked to fourth this week. New Richmond slides to fifth. Brookfield Central drops out this week.

Despite a loss to Arrowhead, Catholic Memorial remains the strong favorite in the Division 3 voting and stays at number one in the Coaches Poll. The rest of the top five stays the same, with Pewaukee second followed by Reedsburg, Port Washington, and Plymouth. Mount Horeb/Barneveld and New Berlin Eisenhower drop out of the rankings, with Portage and Waterford moving in.

Freedom stays atop the Division 4 Coaches Poll, with North Eastern Conference foe Little Chute second. West Salem is third, followed by Northwestern and Stratford. Aquinas drops from third to seventh after going down to West Salem. Edgewood and Denmark move in this week, while Jefferson and Racine St. Catherine’s drop out.

Darlington stays number one in Division 5, but Lake Country Lutheran jumps from third to second and closed the gap in the voting. Amerhst, Mayville, and Racine Lutheran round out the top five. Grantsburg drops a couple spots to eighth this week.

Mondovi continues to be ranked number one in D6, followed by Cloverbelt rival Regis. Lomira is third, with Bonduel and Edgar rounding out the top five. The bottom four teams in last week’s rankings all drop out, allowing a new set of teams to move into the poll: Weyauwega-Fremont, Fennimore, Marathon, and Luther.

While Cochrane-Fountain City stays on top of the D7 poll, there were plenty of other changes in the top five once again. Boyceville drops from second to tenth after falling to Glenwood City. Lourdes is up to second, with Pepin/Alma, Glenwood City, and Cashton rounding out the top five. Coleman dipped four spots to ninth as well.

Gilman continues to dominate and is atop the 8-player rankings again, especially after a convincing win over former number two Owen-Withee, who slides to sixth this week. Belmont is up to second, followed by Assumption, Hurley, and Valley Christian. Clear Lake enters the poll while North Crawford drops out after a loss to Iola-Scandinavia.
