BOUND WISCONSIN WEEK 4 FOOTBALL TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
Amherst Falcons
In a showdown of top ten teams in the latest Bound Wisconsin Coaches Poll, Amherst left no doubt that they are a force once again this year, jumping out on Marathon 29-0 after one quarter and cruising to a 50-18 victory. it was another huge game for senior running back Ayden Nerdahl, who rushed for 228 yards and five touchdowns on 17 carries.
Edgar Wildcats
In a crossover game that was also a rematch of a state semifinal game from a year ago, Division 6 #5 Edgar went on the road to D6 top-ranked Mondovi on Friday night. Edgar’s defense came through in a big way in a 15-8 victory. The Wildcats limited Mondovi to just eight points after they had been averaging north of 40 per game.
Fall River/Rio Rebels
Fall River/Rio entered Friday night’s game against Division 7 second-ranked Lourdes Academy at 1-2 overall, but the Rebels got it all together in a thrilling 15-13 win. Jaxon Tuchalski found Jayden Abegglen for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter for the go-ahead points, while the defense forced and recovered a fumble inside their own 10-yard line with just over a minute remaining to seal the deal.
Ithaca/Weston
It has been an emotional start to the 2026 season. The new co-op program experienced tragedy when freshman Briggs Maxwell passed away from a farm accident the morning of the second game of the year. The team and community have rallied, and in the first home game since then, Ithaca/Weston took down perennial contender Bangor 12-8. Spencer Nelson, Briggs’ first cousin, ran for 145 yards and a touchdown and added a team-high 12 tackles with a fumble recovery.
Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes
Whitefish Bay took down previously undefeated Menomonee Falls 22-18 on Thursday, moving to 3-1 on the season. It’s another quality win for the Blue Dukes, who defeated Wisconsin Lutheran in Week 3. Lateef Love had a big game running the football, going for 159 yards and a score on 21 carries.
Travis Wilson serves as the Bound Wisconsin Manager. Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
