Updated UNOFFICIAL Wisconsin Football Playoff Matrix rankings have been posted, and it’s time to take a look at some of the noteworthy changes and movement after last week’s results.
The unofficial results are courtesy of andylavoy.com/football, and the full point totals and rankings for all divisions can be found there. Official point totals are kept by the WIAA.
For more information on the Wisconsin Football Playoff Matrix, including how point totals are determined, please click here. As a reminder, 32 teams in each division qualify for the playoffs, with the top four in each division receiving a one-seed, the next four receiving a two-seed, and so on.
Remember, there are thousands of games remaining on the schedule this year, with lots of changes ahead in the order, and things will smooth out the more results that are in the system.
DIVISION 1
West De Pere remains the top team in Division 1, extending their points lead considerably this week. Bay Port is up to second overall, with Muskego and Arrowhead the other number one seeds as of now. Of note, Hudson is undefeated to this point but has played a very weak schedule and is just 22nd overall (six seed).
DIVISION 2
Another change at the top of Division 2, where Menomonee Falls went down to Whitefish Bay and slips from number one to number eight this week. Union Grove moves into the top spot, with New Richmond, Holmen, and Monona Grove the other top seeds as of today.
DIVISION 3
Reedsburg stays on top of the Division 3 Matrix this week, with Pewaukee second overall followed by Port Washington and Whitefish Bay. Portage suffered its first lossto Evansville and slips from second overall to fifth. Catholic Memorial’s second loss in a row drops the Crusaders down to 15th overall, which would be a four-seed.
DIVISION 4
It’s a North Eastern Conference party at the top of Division 4, with Freedom way out in front while Little Chute is second overall. Elevated teams Northwestern and Stratford occupy the other top seeds. West Salem is fifth overall, followed by Evansville. Two Rivers is just 1-3 this year but is 17th overall thanks to a win over Ripon, who is 3-1 on the season.
DIVISION 5
Lake Country Lutheran moves atop the Division 5 Matrix this week, with Darlington second and former #1 Racine Lutheran third overall. New Glarus lost to Darlington last week but stays at number four overall, which would be a top seed.
DIVISION 6
Bonduel remains the top team in the Division 6 Matrix, though the Bears are just percentage points ahead of Mondovi once again, despite the Buffaloes losing to Edgar. Mantiwoc Lutheran is third, with Randolph/Cambria-Friesland the other top seed as of right now. Regis is fifth overall, followed by Poynette, Edgar, and Mineral Point.
DIVISION 7
Shiocton is tops in Division 7 again, with one-loss Iowa-Grant second. Glenwood City and Pein/Alma are the other top seeds as of now. Hilbert is ninth overall and a three-seed despite a 2-2 overall record, with a win over a 3-1 D6 Saint Mary Catholic squad boosting their score. Pacelli is 4-0 but just 17th overall.
8-Player
Hurley is narrowly ahead of Assumption for the top spot in this week’s 8-player Matrix. Gilman is third overall, followed by Valley Christian. A few one-loss teams, Sevastopol, Wabeno/Laona, and Northwood/Solon Springs are on the two-seed line.

Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
