Bound Wisconsin Basketball Team of the Week - Dec. 22-28

Adams-Friendship GBB

The Adams-Friendship girls basketball team took down Pittsville 74-53 last Monday, getting big performances from several players along the way. Sophomore Bianca Smith had a game-high 26 points, while fellow 2028 grad Piper Moyer had a triple-double with 21 points, 12 steals, and 11 rebounds, adding five assists and five blocks as well. Molly Johnson scored 14 points with nine rebounds as well.

Elk Mound GBB

In a game postponed from earlier in the month, the Elk Mound girls basketball team pulled away from Baldwin-Woodville for a 50-34 victory in a quality non-conference game last Tuesday. The Mounders moved to 7-2 on the season behind 15 points from senior Isabella Kongshaug and 14 by senior Allie Robel.

Freedom BBB

Freedom’s boys basketball team stayed undefeated and continued to show why they’re one of the top teams in the state regardless of division, defeating Brookfield Central 74-58 at the WBY Shootout on Saturday. Junior Kaden Vandenberg scored a game-high 27 points, while junior standout Donovan Davis added 25 points and 12 rebounds. Cal Calhoon hit double figures with 16 as well.

Saint Mary Catholic BBB

Saint Mary Catholic scored a pair of impressive wins at the Lourdes Academy Holiday Tournament last week. The Zephyrs took down the host Knights of Lourdes Academy 80-56 on Monday, as junior Luke Fairweather led a trio of players in double figures with 24 points. Four players hit double figures on Tuesday as the team handed Roncalli its first loss of the year, 80-51.

Stevens Point GBB

The Stevens Point girls basketball team scored an impressive 64-57 victory over D2 tenth-ranked Elkhorn on Saturday as part of the Sentry Classic. Junior Jada Seubert scored a game-high 27 points with eight rebounds, five steals, and four assists, while Leah Awe and Lydia Johnson added 13 points.

Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association.
