BOUND WISCONSIN WEEK 5 FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
Tommy Check, La Crosse Logan
La Crosse Logan stayed undefeated and captured the Ark of Victory in a Thursday night rivalry game win over La Crosse Central. It was back-and-forth much of the night before Logan held on for a 37-29 win. Junior quarterback Tommy Check completed six-of-nine passes for 63 yards and two touchdowns, adding 204 yards and two scores on 27 carries as well. He also handled the punting duties for the Rangers.
Bevyn Dennis, Riverdale
Riverdale moved to 3-2 overall and took a big step towards securing its first playoff appearance in 13 years with a 27-22 win over Pecatonica/Argyle. Senior Bevyn Dennis threw for 122 yards and a touchdown with another 108 yards and three scores on the ground. His 11-yard touchdown run with just over three minutes remaining proved to be the winning score. Dennis also recorded 10 tackles and had 60 kick return yards.
Brayden Doerr, Edgerton
Edgerton posted a key 38-28 win over Portage in a Capitol Conference game on Friday night behind a strong offensive effort. Senior quarterback Brayden Doerr completed 20-of-31 passes for 352 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Doerr leads the state in passing touchdowns through five weeks and is second in passing yards.
Ayden Nerdahl, Amherst
In a ranked crossover showdown, Amherst hammered Coleman 50-12 on Friday night, as the Falcons remain unbeaten. Senior running back Ayden Nerdahl went over 1000 rushing yards already with a big performance in Week 5, carrying the ball 29 times for 306 yards and five touchdowns.
Coy Ramseier, Cadott
Cadott won a hard-fought 26-12 decision of D7 eighth-ranked Boyceville last Thursday. Senior Coy Ramseier ran for a team-high 110 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. He also had four tackles on defense, a fumble recovery, and interception to help key the Hornets to victory.
Travis Wilson serves as the Bound Wisconsin Manager. Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
