BOUND WISCONSIN WEEK 5 FOOTBALL TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Bloomer Blackhawks
Bloomer won in dramatic fashion on Friday night, as Zach Asher hit Orin Buresh for a 25-yard touchdown on the first play of the Blackhawks’ overtime possession for a 26-20 walk-off victory over Hayward. It was the second touchdown connection of the day for Asher and Buresh.

D.C. Everest Evergreens
D.C. Everest struggled in the non-conference portion of the schedule but has reasserted itself as the favorite in the Wisconsin Valley Conference once again, moving to 3-0 in league play after a 37-15 win over Marshfield. The Evergreens pulled away in the second half, with senior running back Corbin Enzenroth having a nice day, rushing 30 times for 157 yards and two touchdowns.

Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts
It was a rough start to the season for Kaukauna, who dropped three of the first four games against a challenging schedule. The Galloping Ghosts found something in Week 5, and were able to secure a 36-29 win over Fond du Lac to get back on track. Sophomore quarterback Ryan Carrel took a big step forward, completing 27-of-43 passes for 313 yards and two touchdowns in the win, adding 106 yards and a score on the ground.

Muskego Warriors
Arrowhead had gone 4-0 against a brutally tough early schedule, but couldn’t quite keep things going as the top-ranked Warhawks came up short against eighth-ranked Muskego in a hard-fought 21-17 decision. Caleb Hein helped seal the deal with an interception in the red zone late in the ballgame. Jackson Niemiec and Bryson Hoeffler combined for 210 yards on the ground for the Warriors, who are now tied with Mukwonago atop the Classic Eight Conference.

Pewaukee Pirates
After losses to a couple D1 heavyweights, Pewaukee showed it is still one of the top teams in Division 3, beating a solid D2 Waukesha West squad 48-28 on Friday. The Pirates rolled up 472 yards of offense, including 367 on the ground. Omar Cherrington rushed for 216 yards and two scores while sophomore Benji Weis added 147 yards and two touchdowns.
