Bound Wisconsin Basketball Team of the Week - Dec. 29-Jan. 4

Colfax GBB

The Colfax girls basketball team picked up a couple nice wins in the last week. It started last Tuesday with a 52-49 win over Elk Mound behind big games from Brynn Sikora and Jordyn Bowe. On Saturday, the Vikings defeated Prescott 63-47, as Sierra Shipman and Jordyn Bowe combined for 44 points.

D.C. Everest BBB

It was a three victory week for the Evergreens, all high-scoring affairs. On Monday, the boys hoops squad took down Lakeland 91-60. At the River Falls Holiday Classic, they defeated the host Wildcats 93-68 on Friday and then scored an impressive 100-78 victory over West Salem on Saturday.

Kewaunee BBB

Kewaunee boys basketball had just one game last week, but it was a big one. Facing a very good Howards Grove squad on Friday, Kewaunee scored a 73-70 overtime win. Senior Avery Jerabek scored a game-high 19 points, while Connor Kilgore and Diesel Bosdeck also reached double-figures.

Milwaukee Academy of Science GBB

Milwaukee Academy of Science has picked up six victories since December 23rd, including four wins in the last week. At the Franklin Holiday Tournament, the Novas took down host Franklin on Monday 66-52. That set the stage for a memorable 55-54 victory against D3 #1 Pius XI Catholic on Tuesday as Kimora Smith hit a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer. MAS beat Illinois teams Bishop McNamara and Dyett over the weekend.

Wisconsin Lutheran BBB

Wisconsin Lutheran represented the state well on a big stage, going 3-0 to win the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Vikings defeated Myrtle Beach (SC) 77-33 behind 34 points from senior Zavier Zens. He added 19 points in a 49-38 win over George Rogers Clark (KY), then knocked off North Crowley (TX) in the championship game as a Zens three-pointer bounced in at the buzzer for a 57-54 victory.

Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
