Bound Wisconsin Basketball Team of the Week - Jan. 5-11

Cameron GBB

Cameron girls basketball stayed undefeated in Heart O’North play with a pair of wins last week. On Monday, the Comets defeated Saint Croix Falls 64-47, as four players scored in double figures, led by 15 points from freshman Aggie Schmidt. Cameron defeated Barron 64-22 later in the week, with Schmidt again leading the team with 17 points.

Cudahy BBB

The Cudahy boys basketball team won its first conference game in more than 1000 days, defeating rival South Milwaukee 65-64 on Friday night. Senior Anthony Brooks led the Packers with 29 points. Brooks had a huge performance earlier in the week as well when Cudahy defeated Random Lake 110-78, pouring in 54 points with nine steals, six rebounds, and five assists, making 22-of-30 shots from the field.

Port Washington BBB

Port Washington took down Division 2 top-ranked Slinger 57-56 in a thriller last week, as Cal Loose led the way with 18 points while Grady Karrels contributed 15 points and 11 rebounds. Izaiah Scheftgen chipped in 13 points. The Pirates also defeated Kewaskum 73-52, with Finn Pashak scoring a game-high 14.

West Salem GBB

West Salem had a big game with Arcadia last week, as both teams entered undefeated in the Coulee Conference. The Panthers would win a 59-57 thriller, with senior Josie Brudos putting together a big game with 26 points and 10 rebounds. The Panthers are tied atop the league standings with Viroqua, who they play on Tuesday.

Whitefish Bay GBB

Whitefish Bay was an impressive two-game victor last week, both over strong opposition. The Blue Dukes took down Monona Grove 62-43 in a non-conference game, as junior Rowan Counsell had 19 points. Whitefish Bay won 72-54 over North Shore rival Hartford, with Counsell scoring a game-high 26 points.
