BOUND WISCONSIN WEEK 7 FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Grant Bjerke, Hudson
Hudson defeated old rival River Falls 28-14 on Friday night. Senior quarterback Grant Bjerke completed six-of-15 passes for 73 yards, but did his greatest damage on the ground for the Raiders, carrying the ball 38 times for 330 yards and three touchdowns.

Trent Breitbach, Stevens Point
Stevens Point took another big step towards a Wisconsin Valley Conference title with a 55-35 win over D.C. Everest in Week 7. Dynamic senior quarterback Trent Breitbach had an incredible two-way game. he completed 10-of-16 passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns, with 23 carries for 192 yards and four scores on the ground.

Bode Falkner, Mondovi
Mondovi beat Regis 38-0 in a key Cloverbelt Conference game to keep their hopes for a league championship alive. It was domination throughout for the Buffaloes, who got yet another big performance from junior Bode Falkner. He completed 19-of-27 passes for 296 yards and four touchdowns plus ran for 36 yards on eight carries. He also had three tackles on defense and scored a two-point conversion.

Asher Turner, Spring Valley
Spring Valley took down previously undefeated and D7 second-ranked Glenwood City 28-14 to move into a share of the league lead heading into the final two weeks of the season. Senior Asher Turner teamed with Sam Schmitt to form a dynamic rushing duo, as Turner went for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries, also catching two passes for 22 yards. Turner also tied for the team lead with six tackles.

Deacon Vierck, Wisconsin Lutheran
What a Homecoming it was for Wisconsin Lutheran, who took down previously unbeaten and D2 second-ranked Homestead 36-35 in overtime. Senior Deacon Vierck scored on the Viking’s first possession in overtime on a four-yard run and the conversion was good. Wisconsin Lutheran then stopped a conversion on the Homestead possession to preserve the win. Vierck ran for 187 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries and added a two-point conversion.

Travis Wilson serves as the Bound Wisconsin Manager. Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
