BOUND WISCONSIN WEEK 7 FOOTBALL TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Cambridge Blue Jays

Cambridge handed Pardeeville its first loss of the year in a 35-26 decision on Friday night. The Blue Jays were outgained but made the plays when they needed to. Junior quarterback Ian Nelles threw for 215 yards and a touchdown, adding three rushing scores as well. Trevor Polster had a key 80-yard kick return touchdown.

Coleman Cougars

Shiocton was undefeated heading into Week 7, but Coleman was undeterred. The Cougars were 4-2 coming in, but dominated for a 42-0 victory. Coleman didn’t throw the ball, but were dominant on the ground with 33 carries for 303 yards and five touchdowns. Daniel Kuchta also recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Kimberly Papermakers

It has been a rough year for Kimberly, who entered Week 7 with a 2-4 record, more losses in a season than they’ve had in decades. Needing a win to improve their chances of making the playoffs, Kimberly pulled out a 16-3 win over Appleton North. Maddux Hermus ran for a score and connected on a late field goal, while Christopher Thao returned an interception 55 yards for a score.

Muskego Warriors

In a thrilling overtime matchup between top five teams in the state, fifth-ranked Muskego outlasted top-ranked defending state champion Arrowhead 22-20 in overtime. In the extra period, Muskego scored and converted the two-point play, while Arrowhead then got a touchdown of its own but failed on the conversion attempt. Junior Bryson Hoeffler ran for a team-high 103 yards and two touchdowns for the Warriors.

West De Pere Phantoms

In another top five matchup, West De Pere got past Bay Port for a 33-27 victory to remain unbeaten and atop the FRCC-North. It was another great matchup between these teams, who have played a number of close games in recent years. Kainan Strong ran for 117 yards and two touchdowns, Parker Diedrich caught four passes for 117 yards and a score, while Andrew Greisen threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns.
