Updated UNOFFICIAL Wisconsin Football Playoff Matrix rankings have been posted, and it’s time to take a look at some of the noteworthy changes and movement after last week’s results.
The unofficial results are courtesy of andylavoy.com/football, and the full point totals and rankings for all divisions can be found there. Official point totals are kept by the WIAA.

Remember, there are thousands of games remaining on the schedule this year, with lots of changes ahead in the order, and things will smooth out the more results that are in the system.
DIVISION 1
Arrowhead’s overtime win against Mukwonago is enough to nudge the Warhawks back to the overall top spot in Division 1, dropping Franklin to overall number two. That means Arrowhead, Franklin, and Hamilton are the one-seeds. Green Bay Preble is currently the final qualifier. Sheboygan North drops a bit and is still out of the playoffs as of now after losing to Green Bay East last week, and the 5-2 Golden Raiders probably need to beat either Oshkosh North or Menasha in the final two games to get in.
DIVISION 2
Rice Lake suffered its first loss of the season against River Falls, but the Warriors are still the top overall seed in Division 2, with River Falls up to second overall. They are joined as one-seeds by Notre Dame and Monona Grove. Unbeaten West De Pere is fifth overall seed, but their game this week against defending D1 state champion Bay Port would likely jump them up into one-seed territory with a win. Beaver Dam is the final qualifier as of now.
DIVISION 3
Grafton continues to hold a sizable lead in the Division 3 Matrix points, followed by New Berlin West, Catholic Memorial, and Plymouth. Whitnall makes a jump up several spots into a number two seed on the back of a win over Greenfield. McFarland is currently the final unofficial qualifier, just ahead of Rhinelander.
DIVISION 4
Columbus downed Lake Mills in dominating fashion, and it was enough to leap-frog the Cardinals into the overall number one position, just ahead of an Aquinas team that beat them earlier this year (which probably won’t sit well with Blugold fans), though both are number one seeds along with Racine St. Catherine’s and Mosinee. Interestingly, Mosinee is a one-seed currently with a 5-2 record, while undefeated teams Baldwin-Woodville and Winneconne are currently two-seeds. Wrightstown is the final qualifier in the division.
DIVISION 5
Grantsburg, Amhert, and Northwestern are unchanged as the top three overall seeds, while Mayville slips into the final number one seed spot. River Valley continues its march up the list, as they are now a number two-seed. Laconia is the final unofficial qualifier as of right now.
DIVISION 6
Darlington beat a very good Divisoin 4 Lodi team handily, and it allows the Redbirds to fly into the top overall seed spot in Division 6, with Regis, Manitowoc Lutheran, and Edgar the other number one seeds. Cadott is the final unofficial qualifier.
DIVISION 7
Kenosha St. Joseph continues to have a big lead in the Division 7 rankings once again, while Lourdes Academy, Cochrane-Fountain City, and now Potosi/Cassville would be the other number one seeds. Clear Lake is currently the last qualifying team, unofficially.
8-Player
8-player continues to get fleshed out as work is done on replacement games and forfeits for programs that never even started their season or appear on many schedules. Flambeau is now the top team overall, ahead of Oakfield, with Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas and Gilman also sitting as number one seeds right now. The final unofficial qualifier as of right now for the expanded 32-team playoff field is Three Lakes/Phelps.
