The Crandon Cardinals have been selected as the Level 1 Bound Wisconsin Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team went on the road in the first round of the playoffs and scored just the second postseason win in school history. The Cardinals were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 1. A total of 5,474 votes were cast, as Crandon’s 1,950 votes edged Nicolet’s 1,406 votes.

Crandon is the number six seed in its group in Division 6, but went on the road to defeat third-seeded Auburndale 40-33, marking the just the second playoff win in school history and first since 2004. The Cardinals rushed for 297 yards, with Cruz Palubicki going for 149 yards and two touchdowns while backfield-mate Brexden Kane finished with 130 yards and three scores.
