The Osseo-Fairchild Thunder have been selected as the Level 1 Bound Wisconsin Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team scored an upset win to claim the programs first postseason win in 16 years. The Thunder were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 1. A total of 4,659 votes were cast, as Osseo-Fairchild’s 1,507 votes edged Fall Creek’s 927 votes.

Osseo-Fairchild was 4-5 during the regular season and dropped the final two games of the year, and the Thunder went on the road as a seven-seed to take on second-seeded Shiocton, who was 8-1 during the year. Shiocton was up after the first quarter, but Osseo-Fairchild erupted for 22 points in the second quarter and held on for a 28-20 win and the program’s first postseason victory since 2010. Senior Drew Hanson ran for 182 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named Bound Wisconsin Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
