The Cashton Eagles have been selected as the Level 2 Bound Wisconsin Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team went on the road and took down an undefeated top seed in the D7 playoffs.. The Eagles were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 2. A total of 5,343 votes were cast, as Cashton’s 2,309 votes edged Pewaukee’s 1,925 votes.
Cashton was 6-3 during the regular season, but all three defeats were competitive contests. Still, not many expected the Eagles to go on the road and knock off top-seed and undefeated Black Hawk/Warren 34-28 on Friday night. Cashton was out-gained 376-232 in the game but made enough plays to get the job done. Quarterback Drew Butzler accounted for four touchdowns, including three short rushing scores.
Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named Bound Wisconsin Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
