The boys' basketball coaching records have been updated following the 2025-26 season.

Of the top 71 coaches in state history, 17 of them were active in the 2025-26 season.

Of course, the state's winningest coach remains former Cuba City head man Jerry Petitgoue, who retired after the 2022-23 season. He finished his career with a total record of 1027-270, including a few years at now-defunct Gratiot High School. Petitgoue passed away in June of 2025.

After moving from fourth to third during the 2024-25 season, longtime Blair-Taylor (and previously Taylor High School) head coach Randy Storlie has moved into second on the state’s all-time list. He has a career record of 679-327, becoming the second boys basketball coach to go over 1000 career games.

Jon Murphy, who spent many years at Seymour and later at Kimberly, is in third place, with a combined record of 668-219.

Kevin Bruggink of Oostburg and previously Howards Grove has moved into the top ten, posting a 579-221 career mark.

Madison Memorial's Steve Collins (519-155), Fall River's Arnie Oelke (516-412), St. Ambrose’s Chris Zwettler (512-350), Spring Valley's Rob Bosshart (501-338), Middleton's Kevin Bavery (497-314), Arrowhead's Craig Haase (467-181), Washburn's Duane Gasperini (464-213), Green Bay NEW Lutheran's Mark Meerstein (450-407), Columbus Catholic's Joe Konieczny (440-150), Brookfield East's Joe Rux (434-182), Fall Creek’s Rick Storlie (409-246), Mellen’s Don Moreland (405-300), and Lakeside Lutheran’s Todd Jahns (404-224) are also active coaches from the 2025-26 season who make the list.

Amongst coaches on the list, the highest winning percentage belongs to former Randolph coach Bob Haffele, who won 84.9% of his games with the Rockets and Gilman, going 512-91 overall. Just behind is former Marquette coach Paul Noack at 83.8%.
