The Valley Chrisitian girls basketball team has been selected as the Week 11 Bound Wisconsin Basketball Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team scored a trio of wins, including a historic victory over a rival, with several players posting big-time performances. The Warriors were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 11. A total of 2,194 votes were cast, as Valley Christian’s 753 votes edged Lomira boys basketball’s 689 votes.
It was an amazing week for the Valley Christian girls basketball team. They started it with a 76-65 win over Saint Mary’s Springs as junior Mya Moran and senior Lizzie Fink combined for 56 points. They’d beat Wild Rose 85-51, with Moran and Fink combining for 58 points while Paige Boevers had a triple-double (and near quadruple-double) with 19 points, 14 assists, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. The Warriors beat Lourdes Academy 60-53, their first win over the Knights in 18 years.
Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named Bound Wisconsin Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
