
The Beloit Memorial boys basketball team has been selected as the Week 12 Bound Wisconsin Basketball Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team scored a pair of wins to move into position for a potential league title. The Purple Knights were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 12. A total of 1,466 votes were cast, as Beloit Memorial’s 697 votes edged Laconia girls basketball’s 357 votes.
Beloit Memorial won a pair of huge games to get into a share of the Southern Lakes Conference lead. The Purple Knights downed Westosha Central 76-60 behind 29 points from senior star Amare Hereford. The big one was an 83-68 win over Waterford, who had been the league leader coming in. Hereford had 31 points while JJ Martin chipped in with 18 and Brock Hodges added 17 points.
