Allyah Schwem of Viroqua has been selected as the Week 2 Bound Wisconsin Basketball Player of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. She had a big week in a pair of wins for the Blackhawks. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 2. A total of 1,754 votes were cast, as Schwem’s 657 were enough to edge out second place Syd Loerke of Deerfield, who tallied 553 votes.

Viroqua Allyah Schwem had a huge game on Tuesday in a 67-46 win over Dodgeville. The sophomore scored 31 points with 11 steals in the victory, and would add 16 points and five boards later in the week against Tomah.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Bound Wisconsin Basketball Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
