The Waterford Wolverines boys basketball team has been selected as the Week 2 Bound Wisconsin Basketball Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team took down the defending state champs on a buzzer-beater along with two other wins. The Wolverines were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 2. A total of 1,862 votes were cast, as Waterford’s 574 votes edged Mauston boys basketball’s 527 votes.

Waterford had quite the week, starting things off with a bang when Caden Gustafson hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to take down D2 top-ranked Wauwatosa West 59-56 on Monday. Gustafson finished with 22 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists. The Wolverines would cruise to dominating wins over Westosha Central and Whitnall later in the week by running clock scores.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named Bound Wisconsin Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
