Mason Henschel of Fond du Lac has been selected as the Week 2 Bound Wisconsin Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. His big day helped the Cardinals move to 2-0 on the season. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 2. A total of 4,718 votes were cast, as Henschel’s 2,074 were enough to edge out second place Joseph Tarasewicz of River Falls, who tallied 1,900 votes.

Fond du Lac has struggled out of the gates the last few years, but the Cardinals are now 2-0 after after a 17-3 victory over Marquette in Week 2, with senior running back Mason Henschel doing the heavy lifting, carrying the ball 48 times for 302 yards and two touchdowns.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Bound Wisconsin Football Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 3 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
