The Darlington Redbirds have been selected as the Week 2 Bound Wisconsin Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team took down an Illinois state champ in dominating fashion. The Redbirds were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 2. A total of 5,329 votes were cast, as Darlington’s 2,239 votes edged Mondovi’s 1,400 votes.

Darlington is the defending state champion in Wisconsin’s Division 6, and Friday they took on Illinois’ defending 1A state champ Lena-Winslow. The Redbirds dominated throughout, winning 35-0 in the border battle. Senior quarterback Zeke Zuberbuhler completed seven passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named Bound Wisconsin Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
