It is time to take a look at this week’s Bound Wisconsin/Zaleski Sports Girls Basketball Media Poll. Voting is conducted by a panel of statewide media members.

Division 1

Arrowhead’s lone game this year is a 88-44 blowout win over Manitowoc Lincoln, and the Warhawks are again on top of the Division 1 Bound Wisconsin/Zaleski Sports rankings for Week 2. Kimberly remains second, while defending Division 2 state champion Wauwatosa East jumped up to third this week, one spot ahead of Stevens Point, who dropped an out-of-state game to national power Hopkins (MN).

Division 2

Rice Lake is the new number one team in Division 2, as the Warriors are 1-0 to open the season. Xavier is second, followed by Beaver Dam and Whitefish Bay. Former top-ranked team Edgewood, last year’s state runner-up, drop to fifth this week after suffering a pair of losses to begin the year against Aquinas and Hartford. Waukesha West moves into the poll at number ten, while Catholic Memorial drops out of the rankings.

Division 3

Oostburg has been incredibly impressive in the early going with wins over Appleton East, Winneconne, and Notre Dame already. The Flying Dutch are again the top-ranked team. Edgerton is second once again, followed by Wittenberg-Birnamwood. Kettle Moraine Lutheran jumps up to fifth, as Wisconsin Dells falls one spot to number four.

Division 4

Regis continues to hold down the top spot in Division 4, with Neillsville again second. Manitowoc Lutheran and Stratford move up a spot each. Valders slips a couple spots to fifth this week. Dominican and Fennimore move into the rankings, as Kewaunee and McDonell Central fall out.

Division 5

There’s a new number one in Division 5, as Assumption’s loss to Stratford last Tuesday drops the Royals to second this week. That allows Argyle/Pecatonica to move into the top position. The co-op program faces of with rival Albany/Monticello on Tuesday night. Eleva-Strum is third, followed by Sheboygan Lutheran, and Pacelli in the top five. Lourdes Academy moves into the poll at number nine, while Barneveld’s 0-2 start has the Eagles out of the rankings this week.
