The Jefferson Eagles have been selected as the Week 3 Bound Wisconsin Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team ended Monroe’s lengthy conference winning streak to open league play. The Eagles were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 3. A total of 5,339 votes were cast, as Jefferson's 2,079 votes edged West Bend West’s 1,744 votes.
Jefferson ended what had been the state’s longest active conference winning streak, defeating Monroe 35-14 on Friday. It stopped a 29-game conference winning streak for the Cheesemakers, who last lost a league game way back in 2019 as a member of the Badger, and hadn’t fell to a Rock Valley squad since joining in 2020. Connor Witucki ran for 170 yards and four touchdowns for the Eagles.
Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named Bound Wisconsin Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 4 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
