Lucas Hansen of Hayward has been selected as the Week 6 Bound Wisconsin Basketball Player of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. He helped the Hurricanes to a pair of victories with big all-around performances. She was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 6. A total of 1,925 votes were cast, as Hansen’s 863 were enough to edge out second place Tyler Tiutczenko of Pewaukee, who tallied 543 votes.

The Hayward boys basketball team beat Barron 89-79 last Tuesday in a rescheduled game, then knocked off Rice Lake 74-56 on Saturday. Senior Lucas Hansen had 22 points with seven rebounds and six assists in the first game, which he followed up with 34 points and 12 rebounds in the victory over Rice Lake.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Bound Wisconsin Basketball Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
