The River Falls Wildcats have been selected as the Week 7 Bound Wisconsin Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team took down previously undefeated Rice Lake to force their way into a tie for the Big Rivers lead. The Wildcats were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 6. A total of 3,363 votes were cast, as River Falls’ 1,514 votes edged Boyceville’s 739 votes.

River Falls handed Rice Lake its first loss of the season, 40-28 on Friday night in a key Big Rivers Conference game. It was another big offensive performance for River Falls, with 197 rushing yafrds by Joseph Tarasewicz, 222 passing yards and three touchdowns for quarterback Tino Massa, and seven receptions for 134 yards and three scores from receiver Mason Novak. There’s now a three-way tie atop the Big Rivers between Rice Lake, River Falls, and Hudson.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named Bound Wisconsin Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
