Haiden Carlson of Marshfield has been selected as the Week 9 Bound Wisconsin Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. His big day helped the Tigers down an old rival and secure a postseason spot. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 9. A total of 4,593 votes were cast, as Carlson’s 1,483 were enough to edge out second place Zyon White of Wauwatosa East, who tallied 1,256 votes.
Marshfield scored a 32-30 victory over rival Stevens Point on Friday night, which ended up securing the Tigers a postseason spot when the information was announced on Saturday. Haiden Carlson was a workhorse all night, carrying the ball 30 times for 297 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. It was the 108th meeting between the longtime Wisconsin Valley Conference rivals.
Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Bound Wisconsin Football Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
