BOUND WISCONSIN WEEK 9 FOOTBALL TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Black Hawk/Warren Warriors
It was a huge showdown in the Six Rivers Conference, as Division 7 third-ranked Black Hawk/Warren took on second-ranked Potosi/Cassville, with a league title and playoff top seed on the line. it was yet another great game in the rivalry, with Black Hawk/Warren scoring a 28-21 victory. Beau Podnar had 167 total yards and accounted for three touchdowns, while Jacob Woodruff rushed for 106 yards and a score.

Markesan Hornets
Markesan wrapped up an unbeaten regular season and an outright Eastern Suburban Conference with a 22-16 victory over Cambridge on Friday night. The Hornets led the state in rushing attempts during the regular season, and that was the story on Friday, as Markesan had 68 running plays for 268 yards and two touchdowns. Grayden Vredeveld threw a touchdown and ran for two.

Notre Dame Tritons
It was a top five showdown in Division 2, a battle of unbeatens, and an FRCC-South championship on the line as Notre Dame traveled to Oshkosh North. Notre Dame led 24-14 at halftime and pulled away for a 34-14 victory. Kingston Allen once again had a huge game for the Tritons, going for 264 yards and four touchdowns on 42 carries.

Sauk Prairie Eagles
Sauk Prairie scored a share of the Badger-Small Conference title, it’s first league crown in more than 40 years, with a 20-7 victory over Edgewood on Friday night. The Eagles ran for 271 yards, including 191 by senior Wyatt Gibbs, while the defense was outstanding as well, limiting Edgewood to 190 total yards while forcing a pair of interceptions.

Winneconne Wolves
Winneconne finished the regular season unbeaten and claimed a Bay Conference title, defeating Seymour 29-12 on Friday night in a winner-take-all showdown for the league crown. Brody Schaffer ran for three touchdowns and 147 yards, adding a passing touchdown as well.

Travis Wilson serves as the Bound Wisconsin Manager. Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
