The Sauk Prairie Eagles have been selected as the Week 9 Bound Wisconsin Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team claimed a share of its first conference title in more than 40 years last week. The Eagles were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 9. A total of 8,443 votes were cast, as Sauk Prairie’s 3,431 votes edged Markesan’s 3,417 votes.
Sauk Prairie scored a share of the Badger-Small Conference title, it’s first league crown in more than 40 years, with a 20-7 victory over Edgewood on Friday night. The Eagles ran for 271 yards, including 191 by senior Wyatt Gibbs, while the defense was outstanding as well, limiting Edgewood to 190 total yards while forcing a pair of interceptions.
Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named Bound Wisconsin Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
