Level 1 Surprise
Wrightstown was 4-5 during the regular season but most felt they were favored as a six-seed against third-seeded Fuller Collegiate Academy. Fuller is in its first year as a standalone program and went just 2-3 in actual games played this year. However, since they received so many forfeits, their record for playoff purposes got them a three-seed. Wrightstown would win 41-14.
Best Rematch
These teams have battled it out for the Coulee Conference the last few years, and this season it was West Salem that won the regular season matchup en route to a league crown, 35-6 back in early September.
#1 seed with toughest match-up
Lodi had some struggles early in the year, but the Blue Devils have won five straight games, including last week against Mauston. They’ll make the trip to last year’s D4 runner-up Little Chute, who is the top seed in the lower left bracket.
Level 2 Most Important Player
Tysen Teal is a returning WFCA All-State selection for Northwestern and has put together a strong senior season. He’s rushed for 1,228 yards and 19 touchdowns on 138 attempts, also catching 11 passes for 259 yards and six scores. He has a couple interceptions on defense along with two kick return touchdowns.
My Picks
(16-0 last week; 100% in Division 4 overall)
Freedom over Lakeside Lutheran
Northwestern over Osceola
Little Chute over Lodi
Stratford over Wrightstown
Lake Mills over Evansville
Edgewood over Delavan-Darien
Racine St. Catherine’s over Saint Francis
West Salem over Aquinas
