Oostburg and Wisconsin Dells entered the Division 3 state title game with identical 28-0 records, but Oostburg proved they are at a different level than anyone else in the division with a dominating 64-37 win to capture a second straight championship.

The Flying Dutch finish 29-0 and claim their fifth title overall in 12 appearances.

Oostburg got on the board first when Kinsley Ketterhagen scored on the team’s opening possession, and they’d never trail or even be tied the rest of the way. The lead reached double digits just over five minutes into the game and was 42-21 at halftime. Oostburg led by as many as 28 points in the second half and their led never got under 20 points in the final 16 minutes.

The Ketterhagen sisters led the way, as they have all year. The trio combined for 29 points in the first half, though senior Riley Ketterhagen suffered an injury late in the period that provided quite a scare. Helped to the bench area and into the locker room, she would return with a heavily taped ankle and provide a gritty performance in the second half to help Oostburg close things out.

Ady Ketterhagen led Oostburg with 20 points, adding nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Kinsley Ketterhagen chipped in with 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Despite the injury, Riley added 10 points and seven rebounds.

While most of the Wisconsin Dells squad struggled shooting the ball, finishing at 26.5% overall, sophomore Jaz Alwin was a bright spot, finishing seven-of-13 from the field for a team-high 20 points.

Wisconsin Dells finishes 28-1 overall, taking home its first runner-up trophy after going out in the state semifinals in 2018 in the team’s only other state tourney appearance.

Oostburg’s back-to-back state championships in Division 3 mean they will be elevated to Division 2 next season by the WIAA’s Tournament Performance Factor.
