Kai Haines of Deerfield has been selected as the Week 3 Bound Wisconsin Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. His big day impacted the game in all three phases as the Demons picked up a much-needed win. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 3. A total of 4,836 votes were cast, as Haines’ 2,346 were enough to edge out second place Dawson Walter of Big Foot, who tallied 721 votes.
Deerfield scored its first win of the year on Friday in the Trailways Conference opener, downing Dodgeland 34-12. Junior running back Kai Haines was a big-play machine, rushing just 15 times but racking up 326 yards and five touchdowns, averaging nearly 22 yards per rush attempt. He added four tackles on defense, 63 kick return yards, and a two-point conversion.

Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
